last night
Last night was so much fun. One of the coolest experiences of my life. At the rally the park rangers and secret service stops the music after nada surf who was amazing by the way and the nicest dudes. So it looked like I wasn’t going to be able to play. But after the last speaker I told a few people who were bummed I couldn’t play that I would be playing at this park around the corner at nine and so many people showed up. I played almost every song I knew and was surrounded by so much love. It was a giant prolonged intense orgasm for my mind. Shoulder to shoulder with everyone who was as grateful for music and love and unity as me and celebrating the moment. I still feel high from it. Thank you to everyone who was there and to all you lovers of music and moments of electrifying one-ness. I care for you all and want to make you happy and actually be happy myself at the same time. It not easy and its been killing me – Last night helped me get closer to that than I’ve ever been and seemed to illuminate the path. Special thanks to the invisible children people for leading such a powerful movement for change in the world. Love to all and look forward to playing for you all in the .
Warmest regards
Anthony
Ps
If you have any cool videos of it I’d love to see them. Send them to me or post them. xoxo

The way you described this reminds me of the nights on a bus going to a mission trip. Just talking to your best friends and listening to what ever you were able to sneak on board. In my case, a lot your music. It’s inspiring and comforting.
Thanks for everything.
=)

thats sounds amazing!
i wish i could of been there for that, damnit.
June 24th, 2009 at 5:16 pm
That’s awesome buddy glad you had a great time. And to stroke your ego a bit, sure a lot of people might have been there to see the other bands etc, however the reason you had such a following at the park was because people wanted to see YOU! If I was in your position and had a talent like yours I too, would treat fans and followers like you do. I think more people, whether “big” or not as famous should treat followers like you. Sometimes bigger isn’t always better, it’s how you treat people and look at the outcome when you do! Take care buddy! -Gene

Aww, you make me wish to live in D.C.. First off I LOVE invisible children i’ve been apart of the organizaton for about 2 years. You should do one in Houston, my dear friend!
Take care and thank you for everything.

It is not a surprise to hear that so many people would go out of there way to come see and listen to you play your music. I know I would have been there in a heart’s beat. I was at your show in Omaha last summer and because of the connection I felt with everyone else in the crowd as well as you and Good Old War on stage, that show remains my favorite. Sounds like last night would have been 10 times that. Keep doing what you are doing.

Last night was incredible! One of the most amazing experiences in my life just to see you there surrounded by everyone with barely enough space to breathe, singing your heart out. Thank you so much for coming out and doing this just to support invisible children. I’m glad you enjoyed it as much as we did. Once again, Thank you.

Anthony you’re so amazing. The way you interpret your fanbase and the love they give you is awesome. Rarely are there musicians who sing for small crowds and appreciate as much as you do. It’s crazy to see this because I’m in a band as well. It’s just nice to know that once you have success you don’t have to be a big shot. Your talent will always inspire me, and your words will inspire me just as much if not more. Thanks for the music and dedication to your causes.
Will.

I live in Mexico, but, honestly, I admire so much what you’re doing, and I admire your love for people appreciating you and your music. You truly are an amazing human being, I’m a human rights ‘freak’ and I can’t even tell you how Invisible Children makes me realize there are still very good and kind hearted people out there like you. And that makes the world a better place. I still have Avalon on my car stereo.
June 24th, 2009 at 10:12 pm

AH! I was so excited to see you at the closing rally but someone came up to me and told me that we were shutting down and there was an ‘underground concert’ going on at 1875 Pensylvania Avenue, and that it was located a couple blocks down. So I waited till the end of the rally and headed straight towards the location but the police officer told me that it was blocked so i was so confused and had no sense of what my next move was. So I missed it all, which was a bummer because I was REALLY looking forward to your performance because you truly are one of my favorite singers. But i was still glad i was able to go to the event because it was incredible and it changed my life. & now that I’m back in California I still have the excitement rushing through me. Thank you for your incredible music talents:)

I’m one of the most optimistic people I know, but on the rare occasion that I’m feeling sad or lonely all i have to do is put on a video of you playing, or listen to any song that you’re even affiliated with and it turns me around like clockwork.
thank you for everything you do, you’re an inspiration to me as a musician and as a person.

NIGGA COME TO ST.LOUIS!
September 9th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
heyy. I was there that day, and I want you to know that after the crazy day of running around DC, lobbying and actually getting things accomplished, getting a chance to see you and all the other artists really put a phenomenal end to the experience. I can honestly say that lobby days were the best experience of my short life thus far..sharing a common passion with a couple thousand strangers really restored some of my faith in people. And then, to see all of you guys, people whom I respect and enjoy, also supporting the cause, and us as well, it just made my feel great. Really great. Now I understand what it means for your soul to smile.
January 5th, 2010 at 4:16 pm
I was there. That night, I fell in love with you.
